beet update setting bpm to 0

I am not sure if this is a bug, but beet update is setting several bpm tags to 0. See logs:

I am trying to understand the logic behind this and whether this is the expected behavior.

Have you tried using beet write instead?

Remember beet update does FILES into DB, whereas beet write does the opposite: DB into FILES.

However, I'm having this issue which may be related to yours? TL;DR: new metadata (created after importing) is only being saved in Beets' DB instead of the files as well (if you have import.write: yes).

Yes, I use beet update followed by beet write.
